I liked everything about this course, with the exception of the fairways which are in mediocre condition at this time. I assume the fairways have not been watered much of late due to the drought in Southern California. They were pretty much "browned out." I assume, too, since I'm familiar with Bermuda grass that they have gone dormant at this time of year, as Bermuda grass does. That coupled with the lack of water on them, except for a few rain storms in recent weeks, is the reason they are not up to par when compared with the greens and the tee boxes.

I have played here several times thru the years but when I saw it was playing for 19 bucks I figured it would be in tatters. I was wrong. If you havent played here it is a difficult course for most players. It is really a target players course. Not sure long by any means but you will be hitting some long irons into the greens. The greens are the tough part of the course. They are like stadiums and very undulating. I had four three putts to shoot 2 over but I consider myself a pretty darn good golfer.

Course knowledge and yardage is a must.

Bring your A game. Demands accuracy. Very undulating greens. Recommend playing with someone who knows the course.

While this course gets a lot of negative reviews, my friend and I enjoyed it. Is it a tough track? Absolutely. Do you have to be a better than average player to enjoy it. Yes. Our only complaint was that we were behind two groups who should have been playing a flat beginners course and it took us 5 hours to finish. The views are great and you really get a workout climbing some of the hills on the back nine but as far as blind shots are concerned, it's not as bad as the first nine at Eagle Glen, which is next door. We agreed that we will play it again.

I was able to play this course just before it opened. The course is way too demanding, with blind shots galore. You need a member to show you the way.

Perhaps the worst golf course I have ever played. It took 40 minutes just to get through the guard gate. Fairways were in unacceptable condition. The greens were terrible; extremely poor conditon. Tee boxes were acceptable. This place is a total nightmare. They would need to pay me to play here again and then I would say no thanks. I played here twice when it first opened and I was shocked that the course was in such terrible shape. Save your money and go somewhere else. Dos Lagos is in great shape play there.

Played it twice once in 2010, we said never go back. Then they advertised many changes to improve play, tried again, not much better. Too many fairways are cart path only, you have to be either young or half mountain goat!

For the only time in my life I was so displeased that I sent a note to JND regarding "were you drinking heavily or did you simply lend your name to this layout?" Crazy to NOT be able to see the Green or Routing of many of the holes. MAP Required and pay attention to HINTS. Carts were in ATROCIOUS condition. We tried 3 carts before accepting one. NO tread on the tires and the seats were all cracked. I don't think they get much repeat bidness and I see why it didn't work out as a private course.

Moved back into the area recently, so hadn't played here before. Reduced greens fee ($33)due to greens aeration,so not able to rate the normal condition of greens. Still a good deal at regular rate ($45-$70). Fairways, etc., in great shape. Exciting layout (big elevation changes). I was recuperating from a broken wrist, so had to quit after 15 holes, but will definitely play again. Will load up on Tylenol next time.

I know the greenskeeper is working hard to improve the fairways and I hope to see some improvements the next time I play there. The greens are nice, but what was Jack thinking?? I never putted so much in my life! Hahaha!

Front 9 fairways were under repair but this is a magnificent target golf course with very tricky approach shots and lots of narrow fairways. If you like a challenge (think Pine Valley tough) this course will definately steel your nerves. Highly recommend.

The management had done well to soften out the course from the original extremely challenging course. People were turned off by the difficulties. We tried it again back in April and it was still a challenging course but much more manageable. Will be back in our course rotation.
